It was a complete surprise—and an incredible honour. In her very first year of business, Carla’s butter tarts were named one of FoodNetwork.ca’s Top 10 Butter Tarts in Ontario. Someone had discovered her sweet creations and made sure the rest of the province knew just how good they were.

There’s No Secret—Just Real Ingredients and Passion

Carla’s secret isn’t a secret at all. She uses top-quality, locally sourced ingredients—butter, eggs, maple syrup, and more—from trusted Ontario farmers and artisans. Her approach is simple: if it’s not something she’d proudly serve her family, it doesn’t go into the box.

Since day one, supporting local businesses has been the backbone of Carla’s Cookie Box. Being a small independent bakery isn’t easy—but Carla set out to make an impact not just with her desserts, but with her values. That means uplifting other small businesses along the way.

Being named one of the Top Butter Tarts in Ontario by FoodNetwork.ca was a milestone—but Carla’s story is still being written. She continues to innovate, experiment, and raise the bar year after year. From flavour development to packaging to customer experience, there’s always something new in the oven.
