Why Local Is So Important to Carla

When I launched Carla’s Cookie Box, I knew I wanted it to be about more than just baking. I wanted to build something meaningful—something that uplifts other small businesses just like mine. Being a small, independent bakery isn’t easy, but supporting local farmers and producers has made all the difference.

Supporting local doesn’t just help us make better butter tarts. It helps us support our community, reduce our footprint, and build real relationships with the people behind our ingredients. Every tart tells a story—and that story starts right here in Ontario.

You’ll catch us at festivals all over Ontario throughout the year, sharing our love of artisanal baked goods. And if you’re downtown Toronto, don’t miss us at the Farmer’s Market on Bay & Wellington every Thursday from June to October. Come say hi, grab a tart, and taste what local really means!
